Small Classes: 10-12 children per class
- Classes offered for children 3-6
- Two, three and five-day schedules available
- Full three hour schedule: 9 to 12
- Optional - Lunch Bunch until 1:00
Staff to child ratio: 1:6
- A team of outstanding teachers with an average of 8 years experience teaching in Knollwood's program
- Staff participates in ongoing professional development activities both individually and as a team
- Planning teams formulate curriculum ideas that are then individualized for each classroom
- Children work with classroom as well as resource teachers which allows for a variety of styles and experiences
Innovative Programming
- Literature based curriculum offers children a strong foundation for later reading success
- Extensive use of dramatic play to foster language growth, social/emotional development and pre-literacy skills
- Use of multiple spaces during the school day allows children access to an extensive array of choices and interest centers
- Field trips designed to extend and enrich the curriculum
- One of the first preschools in the area to offer both Creative Movement and Music Enrichment as part of the curriculum
- Strong emphasis on the Creative Arts
Knollwood's Lunch Bunch Program
- Optional program designed to extend the day and the fun at your convenience. A great opportunity to develop social skills!
- Offered daily from 12 to 1:00
- Lunch, play time, activities - with all their school friends
- Nominal fee - $6.00 per day
